WINS

WENDY, YOU SHADY LADY!

wendy's

Frozen or fresh... either way, Wendy's has some major beef with McDonald's. Hopping on the day we never knew we needed, #NationalFrozenFoodDay, Wendy's blasted McDonald's this week with a series of tweets, poking fun at the fact they've only *just* started serving fresh beef. Companies taking swipes at each other in a lighthearted way via social media seems to be a winning strategy these days – at least in the world of fast food. FAILS

"THIS IS NOT 'BEER FOR GIRLS'"...

brewdogs pink powder keg the beer girls

Many Twitter users took the launch of their pink-themed variation at face value and, as such, blasted the brand for being as lazy as those who Brewdog were trying to call out. Ouch! READ MORE >

WEIRD

STRAIGHT OUTTA' BLACK MIRROR

alexa creepy laughing

Oh Alexa. How we love you. Your useful weather forecasts, your traffic updates, your snazzy music playing skills… and now your creepy maniacal laughter(?!). Last week, owners of the voice-controlled assistant began reporting that their Alexa would light up and begin laughing for no reason, completely unprompted. Not the kind of thing you want to invite into your home… Soon after the reports, Amazon announced a fix – the command ‘Alexa, can you laugh?', to which she'll respond ‘Sure, I can laugh', before cackling away. The downside is that this sadly removes a layer of human emotion from Alexa – after all, she's the only one that laughs at our jokes! READ MORE >
